What is kidney swelling and how does it occur?
Kidney swelling refers to the condition of the kidneys in which they become enlarged than their original size. Usually, this happens on account of the kidney’s inability to drain urine out. The medical term that is being used for kidney swelling is hydronephrosis. Hydronephrosis patients have urine buildup in their blood as there is some underlying blockage in the tubes that moves urine out of the body/
Hydronephrosis is not an age ordered disorder, it can happen at any age, but likely to occur more in children or during infancy, while women may develop it during prenatal ultrasound before the baby is born.

What are the symptoms of hydronephrosis?

Vesicoureteral reflux: This condition happens when the urine flows backward through the ureter back to the kidneys. In a healthy person, the urine flows in one direction only, but during vesicoureteral reflux, it may also flow backward. Resultant, the kidneys get overloaded with urine much more.
