Polycystic Kidney Disease Treatments, Causes, & Symptoms
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is the disease/ disorder that are very uncommon among the patients suffering from kidney related disease. This disorder is more likely to inherit from parents. The causes are mainly associated with the parents and differentiated with the symptoms they have. There is three kind of PKD and causes are different from type to type:
Polycystic kidney disease is very common among patients nowadays. It is regarded as the 4th principal cause of the kidney failure in the patients.
1. Autosomal Dominant (ADPKD)
This disorder is very common among the patient and takes 90% of the graph among the patients. It is also called as Adult PKD. This disorder is transferred from the infected parent to the child. Doctors says that it is 50% possibility that if the parent have PKD, the child will suffer from this disorder for sure. The patients develop these symptoms on later stage of life like 30 to 40 years of age. It is most common among the patients and can cause kidney failure.
2. Autosomal Recessive PKD
Autosomal recessive PKD (ARPKD) is less likely among the patients. It is also inherited from the parent to child. It different from the ADPKD on that factor that both parent must have PKD, in that case only the child suffer from this disorder. Child inherits two genes each from parents. It is very uncommon.
