What is kidney failure?

The most serious consequence of kidney disease in the long-term is kidney failure. In this condition, there are many nephrons that are not able to function and the kidney is unable to cleanse the blood effectively. It may not properly excrete the waste; nitrogenous wastes can accumulate in the blood which increases the level of uremia. As the metabolic wastes build up in the tissues and also in the blood, the patient suffers from physical discomforts. Ayurvedic medicine for kidney damage can help in reducing the symptoms and reviving the kidneys. In advanced uremia, loss of memory and impaired judgment are common, & untreated cases it causes death. Unlike many other chronic diseases that are fatal to older people, chronic kidney disease often kills middle-aged people who are in their most productive years.

Signs and Symptoms

  • Swelling: Swelling in the feet, wrist, ankles, and face is a sign of high fluid in the body which is called edema

Diagnostic tests

There are certain tests that have to be taken by the patient to confirm the stage of kidney disease is:
  • Blood test– It is mainly done to figure the working of the kidneys. This test measures the creatinine level in the blood. The GFR is estimated and taken into account to measure the waste that kidneys are able the filter. A low GFR is indicative of kidney damage
  • Urine test– This test helps in checking the levels of the substance called creatinine and albumin in the urine. It may also check the level of protein in the urine
